This should be pretty obvious by now, but I won’t be making more updates to the site. Facebook, Twitter and real life have pretty much taken the place of the personal website/blog.
Thanks to everybody who checked it out while I was updating! :)

So, for a multitude of reasons (the rest of my life) I only seem to have time to write posts when I’m sick, or when I’m on vacation. I thought it would be a nice change of pace if I were to take some time on the weekend and write a post to show I’m capable of sitting down and devoting time to writing down my thoughts when I’m perfectly healthy and could be out enjoying the world.
Oh my god, you are so gullible, you totally fell for it. I’m completely sick. I feel the urge to share the details, but I realize when other people share the details of themselves being sick I tune them out. I’ll share the details that matter: “how does this relate to videogames?” Well, that would be my Sick Station. Much like Shooter-Cart, my mobile TATE shmup cart with VGA and XRGB hookups for perfect picture quality and vertically scrolling shooters, Sick Station serves a very specific purpose. A Sick Station is a gaming setup you build next to your bed when you feel the sickness coming on, and you do so with the last ounce of strength you have before the onset of “the death”. Mine is a 20-inch Dell Trinitron CRT computer monitor on top of a half-broken TV cart we had lying around. It is hooked up via VGA to my Xbox 360, which has a wireless internet adapter plugged into it. For audio I am using headphones as opposed to speakers.
This is supposed to make being sick easier as there is something to do while stuck in bed coughing and sneezing and feeling crummy. What actually happens is, you play for ten minutes, sleep for hours, repeat. The game I am falling asleep to (but enjoying) is Lost Odyssey. I am literally about an hour into the game and I have been playing it “nonstop” for a day and a half while in bed. I asked my friend Ryan how to approach the game’s interesting ring system, where you have rings that augment your attacks as opposed to bunches of armor and he said “well making sure your party has blah blah blah…” and I replied “I don’t have a party, it is still just me.” Yeah, two days in and I still haven’t met another party member.
I haven’t played enough to know much about the game, but I do know the dream diary segments are fantastic. Very well done. Above is the United Kingdom boxart for Lost Odyssey (which shares the same cover art with the United States) and below is the boxart for Japan. I like the Japanese one the best, but that happens quite a bit for games that originate in Japan. Alright, back to being sick on the weekend. *sigh*

Wow, it has been three months since I last posted. I have been incredibly busy with work and leisure (pronounced “lez-zsher”) and haven’t had a chance to sit and update. The good news is I’m terribly sick today and can barely move! Hooray! I have absolutely nothing stopping me from lying in bed, coughing and wheezing in front of my laptop to update my web log. I may even update more than once in the same day! Yeah, crazy.
I’m engaged! I proposed to Charlene on Monday of this week. It was her birthday and I surprised her at work and even brought cake! GLaDOS would be so proud.
I video-blogged the entire day, from me waking up and pep-talking myself in the mirror, driving to her work, even the proposal. I also have some sweet footage of Charlene crying her little eyes out after she says yes. It was an awesome day and I am pleased that it was special for both of us.
I’m in the process of uploading the videos, but they are rather large. If you want to see them, message me and I’ll let you know where they live. If you don’t know how to message me, you probably have no interest in the videos as they are mostly for close friends and family. I’ll think about youtubing them after I see how large they end up being.
While I’m stuck here I think I’ll update the pile of shame list from memory. As always the link is to the right under my gamercard.

This past several weeks has me working at a new job, getting back into the swing of working out, and getting into the television show Battlestar Galactica. As far as Battlestar Galactica goes, I usually can’t watch most sci-fi, but this show is different. It is very well done, much more gritty and witty than most other space shows. I’m sure my broad generalizations are offending fans of sci-fi in general, and for that I apologize. The point here is that if you are looking for a show to watch that is really good, and that your significant other will want to watch with you, this is that show.
All those things can’t stop me from playing games, however. The bad news is, they also can’t stop me from buying more games than I have time to play either. Christmas sales, Black Friday deals, bargain bins… all of these things are conspiring against me. I picked up Tomb Raider: Anniversary, a bunch of Microsoft points (to buy Live Arcade games), Bullet Witch (bargain bin), the new Tony Hawk and a bunch of other stuff. I am in the crappy position of half-starting a bunch of different games, and I need to focus on just one game at a time. Mass Effect needs more love, as does Call of Duty 4. I still don’t have all the achievements in Halo 3, which is just plain embarrassing, and still I find myself starting to play my new Tomb Raider. I haven’t even opened Bioshock yet, and I find myself playing games that should have to wait.
Ah well, maybe I’ll catch up over Christmas break…

I am a lucky son of a gun. I get Thanksgiving week off; another week to play all the games I haven’t had a chance to. I have recently picked up (in no particular order): Assassin’s Creed, Scene It, Call of Duty 4, Super Mario Galaxy, Guitar Hero III, Half Life Source (I finished Orange Box and want the back-story again) and more. I’ll try to update the list of games I still have to play as it has never been complete since I started this site, and I’ll try to update each day of my break if I get a chance.
That’s it, just a short post for now. Back to playing games!

October 6th, 2007
I have been so busy actually playing games and making my pile shrink that I haven’t had a chance to post recently.
Some of the games I have been playing include: Earth Defense Force, The Darkness, Halo 3, Skate, PGR 4, Stranglehold, and more (that I can’t think of right now). The only problem is, with so many more amazing games coming out this holiday season, and my addiction to getting games on day one, I’m not sure I’m making any real headway.
Ah well, I’m having a blast. When work gets really busy again and I have less time for gaming I’ll update the list of played/unplayed games and show some new pics of my gaming setup (I made some cool changes and added some neat equipment). Yeah, I said “neat”… what of it?

Charlene and I are driving to the Museum of Glass in Tacoma, Washington so I have a couple minutes to write up a quick post.
My vacation has just started, so I now have a week off that can spend whittling down my pile of shame. I also need to spend some time updating my list of unplayed games. I have accumulated more games, and have had very little time to play them at all.
I have only been back in the swing of things for a couple days and I have already finished The Darkness and TMNT. I will try to get through Call of Duty 3 before I tackle Bioshock.
Alright, that’s it for now. I’m nearing our exit.

My girlfriend Charlene and I had just spent the evening at Jillian’s, a bar/arcade/pool-hall (I don’t have a friend named Jillian). We were there to celebrate our pal Melissa’s new job and what better way to do so than by watching UFC 73, playing pool, eating appetizers and just hanging out? As the night grew old, Charlene and I hit the road for late-night Krispy Kreme donuts. 30 minutes later, stomachs aching from all the donuts, we decided to check out the 7-11 convenience store on Denny Way in Seattle that had been outfitted to look like a Kwik-E-Mart. It completely ruled. There were little signs to promote the Simpsons movie that is coming out, which is why the store was all decked out. I took a bunch of pics, all of which you can see after the break below (make sure to click the pics for the larger versions).
Also of note, and visible above-right, are the 100 Limited Edition Simpsons Movie Xbox 360 Consoles that you can win by registering and playing games. I’m not sure of the details, I just know that I am not eligible to enter. Those of you who are eligible can get more info at xbox.com. Also, if you win one please give it to me. Thanks.

This is a very short update just to state that I will be updating my current pile of shame this weekend to make it as up to date as I can. Continue reading after the break to see what I have added, changed or updated so far this weekend.
